I don't think you're taking the epistemological barriers to predicting the future seriously enough, or the fact that cliodynamics is explicitly adopting a cyclical view of history (thus implying that they are indeed trying to predict the future).

But I re-read my article based on your response and felt that it was indeed a little too harsh. So I edited the tone.
